1. Read James 4:11-12, Psalm 101:5 and Matthew 12:36. Describe how technology encourages you
to slander others. Do you think we view slander as seriously as God views it? Why or why not?

2. Read James 4:13-17. How does technology make you less likely to submit your plans to God? Can
you think of a time when technology caused you to increase your dependence on God?

3. Read James 5:1-6. In what ways does technology encourage you to be more financially generous?
In what ways does technology encourage you to be less generous?

4. As mentioned in the teaching, “time-saving” technology has the tendency to make us impatient.
How have you seen this bleed over into your spiritual life? What are practical ways we can combat
this impatience?

5. What are some ways you can combat the problem of technology creating a culture of spectatorship when it comes to the needy, poor and oppressed?

6. Think of a piece of technology you desire right now. What prompted that desire? What are ways
you can move toward a more conscious understanding of knowing whether a new piece of technology is a need or simply a want?
