Mark caught the fly fishing bug growing up on the lakes of eastern Texas where bass and perch made up the catch of the day. Colorado is now home base, where he has been launching fly fishing adventures throughout the Rocky Mountain West and the globe for over 45 years. You are likely to find him bashing through willows in search of palm sized brookies, hiking into the backcountry for timberline trout, rowing his Hyde down big western rivers, or swinging flies for steelhead in the PNW and BC.
His passion for the sport draws him to the water not only to fish, but also to photograph the environment, the culture, and the great moments of fly fishing. Photography and writing projects for major fly fishing brands and lodges take him to angling destinations around the globe.
Mark is a frequent contributor to Northwest Fly Fishing, Southwest Fly Fishing and Eastern Fly Fishing magazines. His photography has also been published in Trout Unlimited’s Trout Magazine, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Fly Rod & Reel, and Gray’s Sporting Journal, the Drake, and The Fly Fish Journal.
