Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal - Page 148

The world of Western Montana is a beautiful and extrodinary place. I don’t think I’m alone in my thoughts that Montana truly is the last best place we have. I can say I’m very privileged to have been able to call this place home for my short 25 years of life. It houses to some of the wildest country in the lower 48 and is still a place filled with beauty and wonder even in this man made 21st century we live in. The people of Western Montana are a special group, who treat the world around them with as much respect as they treat each other. It is these reasons and many others that this is a place to be thankful for.

Growing up in Missoula, Montana I was always lucky to have the outdoors at my fingertips. Be it hunting, fishing or camping we were always out enjoying what nature had to offer. One of my earliest memories is an evening after bow hunting with my father and little brother, ending with Boo running into a barbwire fence almost poking out Boos eye. Scars tell stories and they wouldn’t be the last ones we would receive under Montana skies.
