The Means to an End

In Bozeman the lifeblood of fly fishing courses through your veins whether you like it or not. Just like our state’s revered rivers, fly fishing brings life to communities throughout Montana. The pre-launch coffees at the Café, the extra dozen flies you needed from the local fly shop or the ice to fill the cooler all feed the Montana fly fishing machine. “Do you fly fish?” is likely one of the most oft-asked questions come spring and its most often followed with a tentative, “had any luck recently?” with the question bearer hoping for a nugget of intel.

So, it wasn’t a surprise that a group of local engineers and machinists looked at their love of the sport and decided to put their heads together. It became the collective pursuit toward a reel that could represent “Made in Montana” and serve the fly fishermen with a lightweight yet robust reel that would protect your tippets and your prized catch. It was a means to spending more days on the water “at work” and finding new, innovative ways to enhance your time on the water.
