Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal Volume 2. Edition 2. Fall 2014 | Page 117

We're at the base of a Nevada range that holds populations of

rainbows, cutthroats, cuttbows, and tiger trout. The latter being

the preferred target. When times are good these fish grow large

and fight more like a landlocked steelhead than the beautiful

mutants they truly are. When times are bad and the water is scarce

they may not even be there, vanishing for several years. They've

become like a jinn to us, sometimes answering our desires and at

other times cursing our sanity. But like the girl that won't say she

loves you or tell you to get lost, you'll keep coming back again and

again. We are a hopeful and foolish lot.
