Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal (Volume 1. Issue 3. Winter 2013) | Page 127

A South Florida peacock is an amazing fish, lime green sides with black bars and a red gill plate that would make a cutthroat envious. These fish are fighters; takes are explosive. Watch out for the garbage in the canals, these fish knows how to use it. Sometimes the peacocks are picky and the only way to get one to eat is with a live ‘shiner’ but most times a Clouser minnow is all that is needed. These fish sit on the edges of weed lines and drop offs and explode on erratically stripped flies coming by them.
