WHY WOULDN’T I?
Your next stage of growth comes as you go deeper with God

recently had the following conversation with
someone about coming to IBIOL (KT’s Bible
college) in September, “Yeah, but why is Bible
college the place for building deeper foundations
in Christ? Isn’t coming to church and sitting under
the preaching every week enough?”
It was an interesting question, because I thought
that the answer to the question would have been
obvious. But as I dwelt on it, I began to realise the
answer is only plain if we have a vision to become
who Jesus is calling us to be in 5, 10, 20 or 30
years, both individually and corporately.

It’s often the case that we evaluate ourselves
at the point of time we’re in. If we focus on now,
the immediate, we will generally have one of
two approaches: either feel bad about where
we’re at, and defer remedial action till “tomorrow”
or be satisfied with how we’re handling the
present situation.
There is a third option, and it’s perhaps the one
that requires the most effort. It’s accepting our reality
in this situation, and at the same time proactively
reaching for the future and who Jesus is making us
to be. It’s about living and growing in His reality.
