I ’ m from Venezuela and have been living in Spain for many years , I came to London about a couple of months ago . During my first week I was looking for accommodation , and whilst doing this in the Elephant and Castle area I came across a lady called Maria who attended KT . She didn ’ t just help me with a list of landlords and help me translate with them as she spoke Spanish , she also shared the gospel with me - to which I responded and prayed with her .
As I didn ’ t know London at all and was new to the underground system , she would meet me near where I was staying and bring me to KT . There I was welcomed and within two days I was contacted and a week later my new cell leader came to meet me for breakfast outside my work - this was at 7.30am ! He bought me breakfast and took a real interest in me . At this point Maria had an accident and was not able to walk for a few days which meant that on Sunday I was still not sure how to get to church , but this is when my cell leader stepped in , he met me outside my flat to take me to church . Now that I can get around I have been coming to both Sunday services and cell every week . Over the past two months I have had to navigate through some jobs as there are people who try to take advantage of those who are new to the country but , my cell leader and Maria have been there for me and I ’ m so grateful to God for KT .

At the age of 15 I started going through some dangerous times . I got involved in bad friendships where there were lots of drugs and alcohol around me , but thank God I never tried any drugs ! I did try alcohol , however , and it became a way for me to escape my problems .
At 18 I broke up with my boyfriend in a bad way and felt very lost . I heard about a psychic , and as I was completely lost I decided to meet her . I have always been very spiritually aware , which why I expressed such interest in things as Spiritism , Occultism , Astrology and the like . I read many astrology books thinking that such gifts and abilities were from God .
After many years involved in the Occult my life came to a dead end and I moved from France to England . A lady who used to come to KT and now does a lot of evangelism in Paris told me about this place . So I came to visit KT , and I really knew in my heart that this was where God wanted me to be . I enjoyed the services , I joined a cell and on 29th January 2017 I got water baptised !
I ’ m so happy and passionate about Jesus , I can ’ t imagine my life without serving him . I ’ m really glad to be in a cell group , the friendship and support of the girls and cell leader is really good . My heart is full of hope for the future . I know that I ’ m in the right place to grow and fulfil all that is in my heart to do for God .
Although I ’ m a work in progress , many of the things that troubled me in the past God has taken away and because of the blood of Jesus , I know I ’ m a new creation . Nothing from my past can hold me back , it is the Holy Spirit working in and through me now . If I did not have him encouraging me , revealing scripture and being my strength I think I would not be here . Every time I pray and worship the Spirit of God is there , I enjoy his presence and I find myself enjoying extended periods of time with the Lord . I ’ m so happy , and I am convinced that this is the beginning of my new life . ❖
