her cell group . Martha was the cell group leader . Incidentally , Martha had recently gone through a period of grieving for her sister who had gone to be with the Lord after suffering from cancer , and was therefore able to identify with what I was going through . In addition to praying for me and praying with me , Martha counselled me , and God used her to minister to my spirit and grieving heart and reaffirm that there truly is life after death and that when our time comes , we will be reunited with our loved ones in our heavenly abode . Martha resorted to calling me up regularly just to find out how I was coping and encouraging me when my spirits were at their lowest . She even sent me scriptural verses which I found to be quite uplifting .
My cell group became my family away from home . We meet every Wednesday at 6pm before joining the KT intercessory prayer meeting . Together with the other members – Olga , Cynthia , Janet and Maria – we share and meditate on God ’ s Word . Our faith has grown , and we have become stronger in our walk with God with every passing day . The cell meetings also give us an opportunity to share our daily life experiences , testimonies of God ’ s goodness and faithfulness , as well as challenges encountered . We are able to lean on each other , and encourage and strengthen each other along life ’ s journey .
I completed my studies and the week before I was to leave for Kenya , my cell members surprised me by holding our last cell meeting in a restaurant , where we shared a meal and they presented me with a going-away gift and God ’ s blessings in my future endeavours .
I came to KT a really broken and depressed person , away from my family and friends . Through the support and prayers of really wonderful people I met at KT , I am now on the path to healing . My faith has grown tremendously , and I have learnt to trust in God in all circumstances and despite the season in life that I may be going through . I have developed a deeply personal relationship with God , and I have really learnt how to pray , and not just for myself , but also for my family , who were also really hurting and finding it so difficult to cope with the grief , especially my mother . Some of the KT prayer warriors who have walked this journey with me are Daniel , Claudeth ,
Zippy , Esther , Chris and Farnoush . I am so grateful to and for them .
The way in which I have come through this blinding grief to a point in my life where I can give thanks to God and have this indescribable joy in my heart even with the pain of loss is a miracle .
Most recently I received another miracle . My left arm has been giving me some problems over the last five months . It has been painful to the point that I was finding it difficult to carry bags . Being a doctor , I tried to rationalise the cause of this pain . I even took some painkillers and had some physiotherapy , but nothing seemed to work . I was thinking about going to have an ultrasound on it as I had the worst suspicions as to the cause of this pain .
One Sunday I attended the evening service at the end of which Pastor Colin Dye made a call for those with aches and pains to come forward for prayer . I approached Chris Shimmen and explained my problem to him . Chris laid his hand on my arm and prayed over me . The pain continued to nag me over the next two days but on the third day , I noticed that it was abating and becoming less and I could use the arm more and more .
My mind was sort of wondering about this , and I asked myself , “ Am I experiencing a miracle ?” By the fifth day the pain was totally gone and my arm is totally healed 100 %, I have had no pain in that arm since . I can do virtually anything with it and carry all the bags I want to . That is another miracle that God has performed in my life .
I have received so many miracles and so many prophetic utterances into my life , and I now know without any doubt that God had a purpose for bringing me to the UK at the time at which he did . I have learnt to walk with him , talk to him , and I now know that without God we are nothing . This life is just not worth living without him !
May his name be forever praised ! I thank God for leading me to KT , and for the wonderful team who reach out to God ’ s people , minister to us , encouraging us along life ’ s journey , and bring us back to God . ❖
