Abstract: The terminal efficiency is an indicator of the ability of educational ins-
titutions to fulfill their achievements and reflect important part of their institutional
performance. In this line, the objective of this paper was to analyze the incidence of
institutional factors in terminal efficiency of the Bachelor in Pedagogy and Educational
Sciences and the Bachelor in Mathematics of the National Autonomous University
of Honduras in the second academic period of 2016. Was used a method with a
qualitative approach, an explicatory scope and a phenomenological design. They
were chosen as research populations the students, graduates and teachers; 20 par-
ticipants in total, selected by a non-probability sampling chain type, to whom was
realized a semi structured interview about factors that affect the terminal efficiency
of bachelor programs. The factors that more favored high terminal efficiency of the
Bachelor in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences were the broad academic offering,
appropriate teaching strategies and flexible evaluation. No one institutional factor
has hindered the terminal efficiency of this bachelor. The institutional factors that
mainly have hindered and determined the low terminal efficiency in the Bachelor in
Mathematics were the increase of enrolled students as a result of the implementation
of the admission test and the limited academic offering. No one institutional factor had
favored the terminal efficiency of this bachelor.
Keywords: educational quality, institutional factors, terminal efficiency.
