RESUMO
Trata-se de um estudo de revisão literária que abrange a história e a epidemiologia das
substâncias psicoativas (drogas), partindo da definição de droga, como ela está
presente na sociedade e para que são utilizadas, o estudo tratará das quatro
categorias que se classificam as substâncias psicoativas e os três grupos que as
dividem em relação ao efeito neurológico. Apresenta formas de se identificar o uso,
sugere formas de prevenção e combate ao uso e dependência. Enfoca a problemática
do tratamento do álcool e das drogas ilícitas, principalmente o crack, como se dá a
readaptação social dos dependentes após o tratamento, e dá enfoque nas políticas
públicas em especial o Centro de Atendimento Psicossocial - álcool e drogas
(CAPS-AD). Procurar a maneira mais coerente de se lidar com estas substâncias,
através de políticas e ações que depois de analisados os prós e os contras sejam o
mais eficaz possível, com benefícios ao bio, psico, social e laborai.

ABSTRACT
This is a study of literature review that covers the history and epidemiology of
psychoactive substances (drugs), from the definition of drugs it is present in society and
which are used in the study will address the four categories that classify psychoactive
substances and the three groups that divide them in relation to neurological effect.
Presents ways to identify the use, suggests ways to prevent and combat the use and
dependence. Focuses on the issue of treatment of alcohol and illicit drugs, especially
crack, how does the social rehabilitation of addicts after treatment, and focuses on
public policy in particular the Center for Psychosocial Assistance - alcohol and drugs
(CAPS-AD). Find more coherent way of dealing with these substances, through policies
and actions that after analyzing the pros and cons are as effective as possible, with
benefits to the bio, psycho, social and employment.
