born. I would love to flesh it out more one day and create a more
comprehensive guide, but this companion is great for someone
who already knows a few calligraphy basics and just wants
to develop a new style. This book’s focus is for beginners
and covers my lowercase alphabet, but the uppercase party
for advanced calligraphers will be arriving just in time for
the holidays.
On August 16, the ASC women attended your calligraphy
class at Swoozies in Atlanta. What is the most rewarding
aspect of teaching calligraphy?
I had SO much fun at Swoozies with ASC! It was an awesome
group of women with a heart to be social and serve others.
My favorite part of teaching isn’t even about the letters. I
make it my mission to leave those women a little bit happier
than I found them. I tell funny stories, spread words of
encouragement and share my story of a business that was
started in my bed on my iPhone 4. I encourage women that
their handwriting doesn’t have to be perfect for them to make
someone’s day and being creative for FUN and to spread joy
will always make you feel good. I believe that you get to wake
up and decide to “make today happy” each and every day, and
I love being able to spread that encouragement while they are
there to learn pretty letters.
