Schoeller Allibert Group Appoints Ludo Gielen as CEO

Schoeller Allibert Group B.V., one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of returnable plastic packaging systems, announced that it has appointed Ludo Gielen as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2018.

Ludo, who currently holds the position of Chief Strategic Growth Officer, has been with Schoeller Allibert since 2004 when he sold his business BiPP Plastic Pallets to the Company. Since then, he has held a number of executive roles across product development, innovation and strategy, which have been critical to the Company’s success.

The Board conducted a thorough process in which both external and internal candidates were assessed for the role. “We are pleased that this has resulted in the selection of an internal candidate with a detailed understanding of Schoeller Allibert and its markets and who can lead the further growth of our company,” wrote Martin and Christoph Schoeller, co-chairmen of the Supervisory Board.

The co-chairmen, who have worked with Ludo for many years emphasized that “leading through innovation has long been synonymous with the Schoeller brand in returnable packaging and remains key to our future growth. We are pleased that Ludo will lead the Company and its continued focus on advancing high quality integrated solutions that enhance sustainability and brand value while lowering logistics costs for our customers.”

Schoeller Allibert is one of Europe’s key manufacturers of returnable plastic packaging systems. It has extensive expertise in a range of industries, including agriculture, automotive, food and food processing, beverage, retail, industrial manufacturing and pooling.

CHEP Appoints Jake Gilene as Senior Vice President, Sales and Customer Service

CHEP, the global leader in pallet pooling and supply chain management solutions, has appointed Jake Gilene to the role of senior vice president, sales and customer service, CHEP USA. This position was previously held by Dan Martin, recently named president, IFCO North America.

Gilene will lead a team devoted to positively impacting the industry and customers. He will be responsible for commercial strategy, delivering new products, services and solutions to help customers find more value in their supply chains.

The new position is the most recent promotion in Gilene’s long, tenured history with CHEP. Over the last 12 years, he has served in numerous customer-facing roles, including vice president of retail supply chain solutions and vice president of global business development. Gilene has led teams focused on introducing CHEP’s comprehensive capabilities that deliver sustainable value and improved asset productivity. He and his teams have helped customers drive cost out of supply chains, improve efficiencies and create a better shopping experience at the point of sale.
