Honeywell introduces warehouse
management system for
distribution centres in Asia
HONEYWELL has announced a new
suite of software to help warehouses and
distribution centres in Asia manage their
operations, improve productivity and
efficiently fulfil e-commerce orders.
Using the software solutions,
customers can better control the
movement of goods in warehouses,
manage inventory, plan logistics
operations and coordinate inbound
orders from customers. The solutions
include a warehouse management
system (WMS), an order management
system (OMS) and a transportation
management system (TMS).
Honeywell is delivering the software
to warehouses and distribution centres
in a joint venture with Flux Information
Technology, a provider of logistics
software and solutions in China. The
Honeywell Logistics Technology joint
venture is headquartered in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia, and is focused on
serving customers in South-east Asia,
India and other high growth regions.
“Faced with increasing pressures
to meet e-commerce fulfilment needs,
distribution centres globally are
investing in software solutions to help
them more efficiently manage the flow
of items through their facilities and
to consumers’ homes,” said Michael
Zhou, general manager, Honeywell
Logistics Technology. “Our warehouse
management system helps customers
streamline their operations, better
allocate labour resources and gain
detailed insights into inventory levels.”
Briand Greer, president of
Honeywell ASEAN, added that this
joint venture with Flux combines the
technology, expertise and resources
of both organisations to provide
customers with a more competitive
integrated software and hardware
solution. “We are excited to replicate
Flux’s legacy of success in delivering
WMS solutions in China and to bring
these proven systems to customers
throughout Asia and high growth
regions.
The new warehouse management
system supports multiple warehouses,
multi-goods owner, multi-languages,
comprehensive interface with various
types of automated logistics equipment
and various upstream and downstream
systems.
Honeywell holds a majority stake
in the joint venture — formed in
December last year when the company
acquired an ownership interest in Flux
which supports multiple industries,
including e-commerce, apparel,
pharmaceuticals, retail, logistics, cold
chain storage and manufacturing. ra
Eximchain brings global supply chain
industry on blockchain
EXIMCHAIN, a platform focused
on empowering global supply chains
through blockchain, has just launched
its mainnet, partnering with some of
the leading technology and supply
chain brands looking to drive business
efficiencies via the blockchain, including
China-based sourcing platform
YOOSourcing.
YOOSourcing has more than
35,000 business users, who will
utilise blockchain to provide trust
and accountability to data such as
authenticity, reliability and ratings, and
agreements between buyers and supplier
on the platform. Development has been
completed and is currently being tested
by YOOSourcing.
Founded in the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015,
Eximchain’s technology streamlines
processes for global supply chain players
in areas such as sourcing, supply chain
finance and inventory management.
Earlier this year, Eximchain raised
US$20 million to help achieve its vision
of solving supply chain issues via an
efficient, transparent and secure global
blockchain network.
Hope Liu, founder and CEO
of Eximchain, said: “The lack of
transparency, connectivity and agility is a
huge problem in the global supply chain
industry. With global trade increasing
at a tremendous rate and boosted by
e-commerce in Asia-Pacific, supply chain
players around the world are looking at
technology to help them reduce costs
and be more efficient in their processes.
By connecting these businesses with our
unique blockchain platform, Eximchain
is well positioned to help drive the global
supply chain industry forward with
technology.”

small supply chain players around
the world can look forward to getting
information about upstream supply and
downstream demand in real time. This
will allow them to get their credibility
verified through a public blockchain to
help in financing and new contracts,
manage applications and take part in
governance of their own data.
As part of their development process,
Eximchain will continue to enhance
their network infrastructure and finalise
changes and security considerations in Q4
this year. ra
