LOGISTICS Honeywell introduces warehouse management system for distribution centres in Asia HONEYWELL has announced a new suite of software to help warehouses and distribution centres in Asia manage their operations, improve productivity and efficiently fulfil e-commerce orders. Using the software solutions, customers can better control the movement of goods in warehouses, manage inventory, plan logistics operations and coordinate inbound orders from customers. The solutions include a warehouse management system (WMS), an order management system (OMS) and a transportation management system (TMS). Honeywell is delivering the software to warehouses and distribution centres in a joint venture with Flux Information Technology, a provider of logistics software and solutions in China. The Honeywell Logistics Technology joint venture is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is focused on serving customers in South-east Asia, India and other high growth regions. “Faced with increasing pressures to meet e-commerce fulfilment needs, distribution centres globally are investing in software solutions to help them more efficiently manage the flow of items through their facilities and to consumers’ homes,” said Michael Zhou, general manager, Honeywell Logistics Technology. “Our warehouse management system helps customers streamline their operations, better allocate labour resources and gain detailed insights into inventory levels.” Briand Greer, president of Honeywell ASEAN, added that this joint venture with Flux combines the technology, expertise and resources of both organisations to provide customers with a more competitive integrated software and hardware solution. “We are excited to replicate Flux’s legacy of success in delivering WMS solutions in China and to bring these proven systems to customers throughout Asia and high growth regions. The new warehouse management system supports multiple warehouses, multi-goods owner, multi-languages, comprehensive interface with various types of automated logistics equipment and various upstream and downstream systems.
