LIFE AT VUE HEAD OFFICE

At Vue we are committed to the continued growth and development of our premium entertainment ‘ big screen ’ experience , but It ’ s only by making full use of the wide range of talents and views of all our teams that we will be able to fulfil our ambitions . Therefore we pride ourselves on an environment where all team members have equal opportunities and access to vacancies , development programmes and career advancement .
We spoke to three Vue Head Office employees to find out what a career behind the scenes of the UK ’ s leading premium entertainment cinema is like .
SANDRA JARUTYTE – ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SUPERVISOR I started working at Vue part time as a Customer Assistant back in 2010 while studying . This was my first ‘ real ’ job but I knew my end goal was to work in finance one day . Seven years later , my job title at Vue has changed five times . I ’ ve moved from Customer Assistant to Team Leader in Staines , then onto Receptionist in Head Office . Vue recognised my hard work and potential and I was given the opportunity to move into the Finance department in 2014 as Accounts Payable Clerk ; most recently I have been promoted to Accounts Payable Supervisor managing a team of eight .
During my time at Vue I ’ ve met so many amazing people who have always pushed me and encouraged me to achieve more . There have been lots of opportunities to develop my skills including sponsorship of my ACCA studies .
ANANTH NADARAJAH – PROGRAMMING AND PLANNING ANALYST I joined Vue about a year ago in the Programming and Planning Analyst role . Basically it ’ s my responsibility to work with our Film Buyers to make sure we have the right films , in the right screens at the right times . Before joining Vue I ’ d never worked in the film industry but it seemed like a really interesting product to be analysing and I was glad Vue were able to hire me based on my transferable skills . Since being here I ’ ve really enjoyed the level of autonomy I ’ ve had . It ’ s nice to have a line manger who is there to guide you but can also let you get on and do your own thing .
What I really like about Vue is how we are always trying to look for new and better ways of doing things and I ’ ve been surprised at how much I ’ ve been able to have an impact on changes within my department .
NANCY RAMKISSUN – RESOURCING MANAGER I ’ ve been with Vue nine years now , holding a variety of different job titles during my time here . I started off in Customer Service then moved into HR where my focus is now matching the right people to the right roles as Resourcing Manager . My background was not resourcing before I came to Vue . I have developed that skill set by learning on the job and being mentored by a very supportive line manager . Vue has invested in me throughout the years and nurtured my interest in assessment and selection by putting me on a variety of courses to train to become a practitioner of certain psychometric assessment tools .
I really respect my colleagues and the people at Vue which is what makes it a great place to work . The cinema exhibition industry is also a lot of fun and forever changing . I have seen a lot of change at Vue in my time due to growth , which is exciting .
