ACT V- The End of The Cycle

In the final battle scene between Macduff and Macbeth, Macbeth is feeling the heavy weight of his guilt due to his impending death. It is started to finally weigh in on him that he shouldn't have pushed his guilt aside. He now realizes that his rash decisions have caused all of his suffering, and the suicide of his wife.

Macbeth says on page 185, "Of all men else I have avoided thee. / But I get thee back. My soul is too much changed. / With blood of thine already."

Through these words that Macbeth says to Macduff before the fight starts. It is evident that everything has come crashing down on him, and that he has realized that he is responsible for what has happened to him. His choosing to ignore his feeling of guilt led him to this eventual downfall. He knew what was right, and chose to ignore it. Therefore he had to rule Scotland with the heavy hand of guilt, shame, and paranoia all the while. Hence leading to his destruction by Macduff, and the realization that his guilty conscience has led him up to his demise.
