Foothills Housing Network offers Emergency Housing Services to individuals / households experiencing homelessness and those facing immediate eviction who have no other place to go .

Madison Emergency Services Association ( MESA ) through Barbara ’ s House can provide shelter for up to five ( 5 ) families at a time as well as offer a mentoring program for those facing homelessness .

CCDC , founded in 1988 , grew out of a need for emergency housing for the homeless . In 1991 CCDC recognized that the cause of homelessness was due to the lack of safe decent and affordable housing . They have strived to meet this need and at the same time provide the tools for becoming self-sufficient .

Individuals and families can get dinner , breakfast and a warm place to sleep at night . At 5pm daily , be at the parking lot by the Culpeper Food Closet , behind St . Stephens Episcopal Church , across from the train depot . Transportation to the shelter is around 5:30pm daily . To get into the shelter , you must be sober ; you may bring one bag ; no alcohol , drugs or weapons .

The Salvation Army administers the SHARE / Homeless Intervention Program ( HIP ) and the Center of Hope – Transitional Housing program at this location . Singles and families are accepted . Applicants must meet the program criteria ; a caseworker will determine eligibility .

The Victory Transitional Housing ( VTH ) offers transitional housing to homeless families and individuals with a broad range of needs . The program ’ s caseworkers help individuals achieve and sustain a higher quality of life through counseling , resources , life skills classes and money management . To be eligible for the program , you must have employment and a reliable vehicle . When funding is appropriate , CTI will also help with Security Deposit , Rental assistance and Utility payments to homeless families .
