CHP's weatherization services reduce energy costs for
families by improving the energy efficiency of their
homes, while also assessing and eliminating related
health and safety issues. CHP's weatherization
services are for low-income families, particularly for
households with elderly residents, individuals with
disabilities, and families with children. Households are
typically qualified based on income and recipients
must be residents of the state of Virginia. Please

There are eligibility requirements for all programs.
Indoor Plumbing & Repair, this program works with low
-to-moderate income, owner-occupied homes to install
first time wells and/or drain fields; and in addition,
correcting other health and safety deficiencies in the
dwelling. Repairs include upgrading all systems
(electric, structural, water, waste-water, heat) and also
providing handicap accessibility as needed. Ramp
Lending: Aluminum, ADA approved, temporary ramps
are available for handicap residents. Energy Efficient
Loans (EEL): This program provides zero-interest,
forgivable loans for energy audits and energy efficient
upgrades.
