HOSPICE AND IN-HOME CARE
Hospice care focuses on maintaining quality of life
during the last chapter of a person’s life. In most
cases, it is paid for by Medicare. A physician’s referral
is required to start hospice care. Hospice provides
support to the patient and family by keeping the
patient as comfortable as possible, while maintaining
his or her dignity and quality of life and allows the
patient to remain at home as long as possible.
