Family Violence Family violence is significant across all communities in Australia. Recent figures estimate the Australian Police deal with approximately 657 family violence matters on average every day, or one every two minutes. Victoria has the highest rate of incidents attended by police at 187 per day.15 The Whittlesea LGA has one of the highest rates of family violence in the north. Over the past five years the number of Whittlesea incidents reported to police has almost doubled (1,270 in 2009/10 to 2,359 in 2013/14.16 Across the organisation Whittlesea Community Connectio
