Moments matter THAT 1 10 2 There’s no moment too big or too small for our employees to tackle. They go above and beyond to make a difference every day and go out of their way to bring a smile to their residents’ faces. Take a look at some of these memorable moments from the past few months. 1. Chartwell Barrington resi- dent, Dorcas, recently mused out loud, "I wish there was a day when everyone was happy." Staff took Dorcas' thoughtful desire to heart, holding a day devoted to happiness at the residence. The retirement community in Barrie, ON, was decorated with cheerful décor, staff and residents wore happy face t-shirts and there was even a flash mob at lunchtime to Pharrell Williams' Happy song! 2. Diane, a resident of Chartwell Langley Gardens in Langley, B.C., is known for her love of animals, especially Boston Bulldogs. Luckily 9 RENDEZVOUS | WINTER 2018/2019 for Diane, Lola stopped by the residence to pay her and her friends a visit, providing plenty of snuggles and puppy kisses along the way! 3. A resident of Chartwell Domaine des Trembles in Gatineau, QC, was recently treated to an afternoon of TLC at a local beautician, where she and a friend enjoyed a manicure and pedi- cure session followed by a delicious meal at her favourite restaurant. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon! 4. For resident Ruth of Chartwell Aylmer Long Term Care in Aylmer, ON, it doesn’t get much better than Lobster Thermidore and fresh aspar- agus for dinner, which is why staff recently organized for her and two of her friends to enjoy her favourite meal at dinnertime. 5. Bill of Chartwell Wynfield in Oshawa, ON, has always loved historical planes and automobiles, which is why staff arranged for him to take a special day trip to Model A Acres, a unique bed and breakfast that features a wide array of classic model planes, tanks and jeeps! 6. For Jeanetta, a resident of Chartwell Bon Air Long Term Care in Cannington, ON, there’s nothing finer than casting a line out into open water and waiting for a fish to bite. Knowing her passion for fishing,
