The owners of a 3100SF beach front condo that was built in 1980 decided they wanted to give it an upgrade . The very large top floor unit had been constructed for the building ‘ s original owner and had not been changed since that day ! Although the 180-degree view of the Gulf of Mexico was beautiful , the interior view wasn ’ t so much .
The configuration of the condo was not open and the walls covered with wallpaper . King Contracting recommended removing all of the drywall down to the studs , only keeping some of the ceilings intact . The owners had a good vision of the new layout they wanted so the contractor and his crew set about making it happen . Upon demo , they found some electrical issues , which resulted in the owner asking King Contracting to rewire and re-plumb the entire unit as well .
Many interior walls were removed to open up the master bath and walk-in closet . A wall in the laundry was moved back 2 ’ to allow for a larger laundry room , and the water heater and filter system were placed into a new closet that was in a guest room . The contractor installed Acoustic Blok to the demising wall , batt insulation to all interior walls and Whisper Mat under all tiled floors to reduce the noise transfer often
found in condos surrounded by concrete . Custom cabinetry was designed and installed in the kitchen , and three baths along with an office .
An abundance of appliances was installed in the kitchen that included two dishwashers , two sinks , a microwave drawer , a double oven , an ice maker and an eight lineal feet fridge and freezer to top off the list !
A huge double headed shower that measured 12 ’ x 4 ’ was put in the master bath with full-length clear glass to showcase the beautiful tiles the owners had selected . The walk-in closet with an island has an abundant amount of storage .
One guest bath doorway was reconfigured to
allow for a hallway closet on one side and a linen closet to put inside of the bath .
To finish the beach front condo , the contractor installed an A / V system that included nine flat-screen televisions and remote control access for all the lighting and sound throughout .
The owners are enjoying the Gulf view from an interior that now has a great view as well !
