Lucozade promotes Joshua Liverpool Ladies sign Avon Doom Bar picked for Lions
Ahead of Joshua’s incredible fight against
Wladimir Klitschko, Lucozade released a
short biopic film chronicling some of the
boxer’s youthful and troubled experiences
that he went through whilst growing up. A
long-term ambassador of the brand,
Lucozade focused their latest
#MadeToMove campaign around the British
athlete, organising training sessions with
the public to inspire and engage consumers,
as well as social content. Their latest piece
works both as a standard TVC and as
preliminary, pre-fight piece of build-up
content, so iconic in the boxing sphere.
The clip (as well as the campaign in
general) gives a human side to the
celebrity of Anthony Joshua and truly gives
fans an emotional connection to the British
idol. Additionally, Lucozade were probably
quite happy with Joshua’s performance… Liverpool Ladies have made history by
signing their first-ever shirt
sponsorship deal. The football club
have signed a three-year partnership
with women’s beauty and cosmetic
company Avon. The brand was founded
in 1886 and have always aimed to
empower women all over the world.
The deal marks the first female -
focused brand to sponsor a Premier
League ladies side.
The shirts were supposed to be
debuted at the match against Yeovil
T o w n La d i e s o n Ap r i l 2 3 rd , h o w e ve r ,
things didn’t exactly go to plan…
Unfortunately, the shirts were
forgotten and left behind so fans had
to wait for the Ladies’ next match to
check out their new partner
emblazoned on the front of the shirt. With excitement running high for the
first Lions Tour to New Zealand since
2005, Doom Bar weren’t slow to get in on
the action. This month, the cask ale
became the Official Beer of the 2017
British and Irish Lions, promising to be
“committed to the last drop”.
Included in the partnership, Lions
players will help make a series of adverts
on behalf of the beer brand, which will
be broadcasted in the build-up to and
during the tour this Summer.
The Cornish brewer will be hoping that
they will be the lucky charm for the 2017
touring party, especially given what
happen the last time the Lions entered
All Black territory. Unfortunately, they
lost every game in what was coined a
“ blackwash ”. Fingers crossed these
results won’t be repeated.
