This month we look at one of many women who work hard and live to inspire through their work.

Viola Davis is one of these women, an American producer and actress of stage, screen and television. Born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, USA. She is the second youngest of six children.

Davis began her career on stage. Played supporting and minor roles in several films and television series in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Her film breakthrough was 2008 .Her supporting role in the drama Doubt earned her several nominations including Golden Globe, SAG, and Academy Award for best supporting actress.

Greater success came in 2010s when she won a Toni Award for best actress in a play for her role as Rose Maxon in the revival of August Wilson’s Fences.

2012 she was listed by Times as one of 100 most influential people in the world.

2014 0nwards began starring as the lawyer Annalise Keating on the ABC drama How To Get Away With Murder.

2015 she was the first black woman of any nationality to win the primetime Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

Davis and her husband Julius Tennon are the founders of the production company Juvee Productions.

Davis has starred in their productions Lila & Eve and Custody (2016).

She played Amanda Waller in the DC comics films Suicide Squad a film adaptation of a comic book series of the same name.

Viola Davis is a true example that the work never stops despite your age, if you have a dream chase it. Although she grew up surrounded by poverty she is testimony that your background does not determine your future. Hence she is our Woman of Inspiration this month.
