The African Faith Leaders Project Faith and spiritual leaders play a crucial role in the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. On 24 February 2017, the African Faith Leaders project was initiated by PEACE Multicultural Services working with eight faith and spiritual leaders from different African communities and religious groups. The project aims to address issues of stigma and discrimination associated with blood borne viruses, especially HIV. At this inaugural meeting the group agreed a set of recommendations, including education for community groups on culture, sexuality, spirituality, health and wellbeing, as well as sessions for youth groups and international students on stigma and discrimination. It was also agreed that faith and spiritual leaders working with Relationships Australia SA could help break some of the barriers faced when when discussing taboo topics in our communities. Following the meeting, leaders attended a training about blood borne viruses. 58 Relationships Australia SA Annual Report 2016 -2017
