Reflective Parenting Conversations Training Building workers’ skills in having therapeutic conversations about parenting. Together4Kids (T4K) offers professional development and training to staff working in the homelessness and domestic violence sectors. In August, T4K delivered the Reflective Parenting Conversations for Frontline Workers training to the Communities for Children Program, NAHA workers, and staff from the St Johns Youth 110 program. This training builds workers’ skill and confidence in having therapeutic conversations with parents about parenting. Workers develop their knowledge around the impact of domestic violence, homelessness and other traumas on children, and the power of the parent-child relationship to support healing. They are then guided through seven ‘conversations’, each focused on a particular aspect of parenting, and provided the opportunity to practice, discuss and troubleshoot how the have these conversations with parents. 38 Relationships Australia SA Annual Report 2016 -2017
