Joyce N ’ sana , one of the new female voices of Reggae and Afrobluehop , is a songwriter and performer who grew up in the Congolese civil war context . She ’ s marked by that image of her family fleeing the house , and her dad grabbing nothing but his guitar and his Bible . It ’ s on that past that lays the foundations of her artistic life . She ’ s delivering a clear and determined message . As she says it

A small woman with a huge voice , she settles her Reggae into a Gospel background , adding to it her own mix of Afro , Blues and Hip-hop . “ Her stage presence is jaw-dropping ’’, says Camuz . ca . If Joyce N ’ sana won many awards in the past years , it is no coincidence . The Congolo-Canadian released her first EP in March 2016 and stayed # 1 in Canada all summer in the World Music category on Earshot ; and CJLO radio calls it “ World Album of the Year ”. Twinstar International Sound was born in 1994 , located on Lincoln Avenue , Kingston 13 otherwise known as ‘ jungle ’. The sound got its big break playing at ‘ Ding Dong Badda Badda Fridays ’ and ‘ Dutty Fridays ’, both these events were kept at Fletchers Land . The Sound also did ‘ Rendezvous ’ which was a year to year event kept by Dancehall icon Mavado . VERNON MAYTONE
Born as Vernon Buckley and known as Vernon Maytone , this artist has been singing for over 40 years . He started off as part of ‘ The Maytones ’ alongside Gladstone Grant for GG ’ s Records out of Kingston , Jamaica , then in 1981 as a solo artist . Few years later Vernon relocated to Montreal , Canada .
He worked for several years with the Canadian group Bedouin Soundclash in studio and on International tours . In 2004 Vernon re-recorded his hit song “ Money Worries ” on the Bedouin Soundclash CD “ Sounding a Mosaic ” which was a big hit in Canada and globally . “ Money Worries ” was featured in a TV series “ Falcon Beach ” and a recent Matt Damon movie called “ Downsizing ”. Vernon was awarded with two Gold records and one Platinum record ; his song “ One
Dancehall icon Bounty Killa ’ s event and ‘ Money O Sundays ’ which is Macka Diamond ’ s event , Twinstar had the pleasure of stringing up and performing their DJ skills .
Twinstar has been in the Clash scene for years and has made a mark in the Clash arena . Twinstar has won the Africa Cup Clash twice and has won against some of Canada ’ s and America ’ s top Sounds like ‘ Poison Dart ’ from Florida , ‘ Little Thunder ’ from Canada and ‘ Super Force ’ from New York to name a few . Twinstar is most certainly a worldwide renowned sound . The Sound system is rated as the best and is ranked # 1 in Canada right now . The team consists of Dj Flava , Blax Dun Dah Place and Fyah Roots with the leadership of Jermaine also known as Twin . 2018 has been so far one of Twinstar ’ s best years and moving forward , Twinstar International will keep playing Dancehall music with clarity and Sound with precision so we can keep Dancehall alive .
Way ” on the Bedouin Soundclash Lullaby CD was featured in the Movie “ Nurse Fighter Boy ” and featured on the TV series “ Da Kink in my Hair ”.
Vernon Maytone ’ s has toured regularly in Europe , The United States , Brazil , and recently in Israel . He also owns Buckley ’ s Music and Music Life Movements Record Label . A few years ago he released one of the biggest compilation CDs “ Foundation Compilation ” with some great reggae artists such as Ken Boothe , U Roy , Leroy Sibbles , Errol Dunkley , Tony Tuff , Linval Thompson , Glen Washington and the late great Sugar Minott amongst others .
His new album “ Refreshed ” is on the Musical Ambassador label out of the United States . “ Refreshed ” is a truly awesome and uplifting album , available at all online music stores and CD outlets . It is Vernon ’ s desire to continue to entertain and inspire everyone through his music .
