There ’ s no stopping Poet Cue Kirk as she chants through Toronto by storm with her fresh dub-poetry sound and her message of peace , love , over-standing and home for Jah people . Our poetic Empress and ReggaeXclusive 2016 Top Dub-Poet is hot off the Yuh Heard Meh ! stage ; a dub-poetry and art concert sponsored by her theatre company Alpha of Omega Collective ( AOC ) and Scarborough Arts .
Cue shared the stage with Canadian Hip Hop Pioneer Michie Mee , story-teller Jacquie Du Touit , visual artist Adrian Hayles , Toronto Heritage Drummers and others to bring a unique Roots & Kulcha culture experience to the city . But there ’ s still more to come in 2016 for Cue . She ’ s back in the studio this fall completing her debut album “ Ah Home ”, now postponed until Dec 2016 . Cue and Alpha of Omega will also be in Ottawa Nov 11th for the Nation ’ s Capital first Rootz Reggae Pop-Up Bar Listen Up ! at Avante-Garde Café ; and on December 14th you can catch Cue at Scarborough Arts for her dubpoetry workshop “ The Art of Expression ”. For 2016 and beyond , Daddy Rusty is coming on strong , he is in the studio working on new music and also planning to film a video for his new song “ Girls dem Winin ’”.
