A Popup Interview with Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits

CK:

Do you consider your band a business? Do you think you should?

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

When i first started making music I never saw this as a business , but as a form of liberating my spirit and doing what i like most. Now that i am discovering the ways to market my work, i consider it as a business.

CK:

Do you write your music or lyrics first and which do you find the most difficult? Is catering your music to fit a specific genre important to your band? Why or why not?

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

Yes I write my lyrics before hearing a beat on most occasions , but I also like writing to a riddim, especially for collaborative projects. I find no difficulty , I guess I'm also a writer! When it comes to genre I have no choice limits , especially when the bass line is deep and has a "rootsman feeling". I have learnt that if i want to do music for business i must expand genres and target different public.

CK:

What are are some of your goals? If you say you want to be successful, what does success mean to you?

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

My main goal is to get recognized for my unique talent and go mainstream. Secondly, I want to share my education and experience with different people and cultures. That would be great success to me. I would say that success is Victory! It is no easy road being an unsigned artist/Band, many call it a "Battle" , therefore, the Victory must be sweet success..

CK:

Do you have a page on the web with your concert places and times? If so where?

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

I do not own a personal website yet , but I do create Events on my Reberbnation artist profile and Facebook Fanpage. FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/pages/IJAHDAN-TAURUS-DAN-IDZ/123913750967932 REVERBNATION: https://www.reverbnation.com/ijahdan

CK:

Are there any established artists with whom you would like to collaborate?

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

Yes!, there are numerous artists with whom i would like to collaborate. From Reggae bands to Rappers, probably one from every country in the world! First choices would be Damian Marley and Nas.....

CK:

Describe your typical stage show performance. Give us a hint into what we might expect to see at your show.

Ijahdan Taurus & Royal Habits:

My stage shows are educational and fun for the listener seeking conscious lyrics. I perform mutiple genres at most events , singing Reggae, Dancehall, HipHop, Dub and Raggajungle sometimes. I'm not one of those artists who run all over the stage ,at least i have not felt the urge too yet.. I just groove to the riddim and comunicate with word sound and power to the crowd.
