Now living in Adrian, she ministers as receptionist for the Weber Center and the Dominican Life Center where she resides. “God has walked with me throughout my years and led me in paths rewarding, fulfilling and holy. Would that every journey could be so wonderful!” Catherine Rupp, OSM ’53 recalls the summer night of her graduation from Siena: She, a Servite Sister, was the only one in black among throngs of Dominican Sisters and novices in white habits receiving their diplomas! Catherine’s career since then has included high school teaching, college teaching, college administration, and 10 years in congregational and mission work in Rome, the U.S. and other countries such as Uganda. She now is a Hospice volunteer in Omaha where she lives. Joan Chopp Scheuermann ’53 of Pleasant Ridge has published a book of poetry titled “Reflections From the Wood.” Jane Korte Waldo ’53 and her husband, Ron, call Hudson home now, but have lived in many places in the U.S. and around the globe. While Ron was a career Army officer, Jane taught and raised four children. “As we moved around the world,” she recalls, “volunteering became a way of life”—supporting the Girl Scouts, working on behalf of disadvantaged children, teaching religious education, and serving the Siena Heights Alumni Association, among many volunteer assignments. “Now, as retired folks, we like to travel and visit grandkids.” Having taught school for 20-plus years in many different settings, Jane now teaches a religion class “to keep in touch.” Connie Winters ’53 lives in Jackson and is a certified “master gardener,” having completed the required series of horticulture classes at Michigan State University and volunteer hours. She retired from a career as a librarian/media specialist in Continued Jackson Public Schools, but continues to volunteer in the medical library at a local hospital. “Retirement also has provided the time and opportunity to visit shut-ins in the parish on a regular basis—and to take the Holy Eucharist to them. This service is a real joy.” 1960s Christine Wilhelm Clark ’63 lives in Deer Park, Wash., and is a transfusion services laboratory technologist in Spokane.
