MELINDA, Romania The general feeling, that I felt in the air, throughout the training was passion, openmindedness, determination, „maximum diversity”, which was really useful, as we do not have the chance to experience intercultural learning every day in a real context. It was the first time I used waste materials (e.g. cardboard, plastic bags, textile) to create something. We did a lot creativity workshops at school when I was a student and now with my students, but the materials were bought for this purpose. Now, I know how to use the materials that we already have to repurpose them, or to turn them into something new. I realised how easily we can re-use the waste materials we produce and what beauriful things we can create. I will definitely teach the techniques to my students when school begins. I am sure they would enjoy it and be as excited as I was by the results. I also realised that now, it takes me longer before I take a photo, bearing in my mind the things we learnt at the training, regarding light, frame, lines, symmetry, which added some quality to my photos. I’m still not a professional, but there is noticeable improvement. I learnt that we can turn our “daily trash” into something new and useful. One small action that can make a huge difference in reducing the things we buy and hanging on longer on what we already have. It was a chance of learning how to be more resourceful and mindful.
