here must have been clues
to the imminent darkness
But it was difficult to discern
through the smoke we both blew

So subtle the difference in the light
watching our lives go from day to night
Now all the petals are off the bloom

The darkness seemed to cloak everything
It was not easy to see the light wane
A coolness in the air......like when the seasons on
change

No more oxygen for fuel.....

They have been changing for years

The air is out of the room
.........the light has gone out
