For an imagery example, if Steph Curry played on the great Boston Celtic teams of the 60’s, he would be playing in a team system unlike anything he plays in now. Team systems can create greatness. Often times, when that athlete is removed from a system, they might not perform as well. We see this example best in players going from college to the pros. A system in college might hide a player’s limitation. We often wonder about some athletes of past times, if they had the chance to perform in other systems now, how good could they have been? Football and basketball nowadays the individualism of sports the one on one can make some players look like super human talents. It’s not that we didn't have one on one systems before, but the team system for early athletes stood out. Often, a great player from years ago was called selfish. When we look at the greatness of Wilt Chamberlain, to this day many believe we haven't had any one on his level of athleticism on the basketball court at his size.
