We will be discussing the 5 principles of effectively branding your business:

-Partnerships

-Technology

-Exposure

-Organizational Structure

-Events

There are really 7 principles that I usually discuss but for this article we will just deal with these 5.

Principle #1. Partnerships- When I was growing up my mother always emphasized the people that I hung around. Now, even in my business I am always careful of whom I partner with and work with. This is important because who you are associated with and do business with. You must also understand what they bring to the table and how they can assist you in growing your Brand.

Principle #2. Technology- Technology has become the great equalizer in this 21st century. Small businesses are able to compete with fortune 500 companies because of the advancement in technology. If you are looking to expand your brand in a big way you must be technologically savvy with your business and getting your business out there. The internet and social media are huge in being able to let people know who you are, what you do, and how you do it. Your Brand can touch people over all over the world with just the click of a button, the snap of a picture or connecting with the right person at the right event at the right time. Those who are not up on technology will be left behind. Your marketing and Branding of your business MUST include the use of technology.

Principle #3. Exposure- Branding is about maximizing your exposure so that people become familiar with your products or services. As they become familiar with your product or service they begin to associate certain things with what they receive from you. Branding is about associating your business with a certain Quality, Standard or Comfort level. If someone can associate one or all three of these things with your company then you have effectively branded yourself

Principle #4. Organizational Structure- There is not one business or organization that is successful that does not have in place a strong structure. What Organizational structure does is keep you, as a business, going in the right direction as well as a stabilized format to be successful. When you have a strong organizational structure in place you allow yourself the ability to have a blue print for anyone that becomes a part of your company to follow. They can see the vision and the purpose of the company and know what they will be held accountable for. This also allows those looking inside to see what your brand stand for.

Principle #5. Events- If you are going to effectively grow your brand you have to as an organization be out there. That means that you will have to attend different events to network and allow others to know who you are, what you do and how you do it. Being a part of events is a great way for any business to get in front of a number of people at one time and effectively communicate your Brand to them. As you are going into each year you should be setting up, for yourself an events calendar so that you know where you need to be throughout the year in order to strategically network and draw more clients and even make new partnerships.

Using these 5 principles to begin to Brand your business will hopefully give you the tools that you need in order to Grow your Brand and become a stronger, better and profitable business in the new year. BE UNSTOPPABLE!!!!
