Greetings Everyone!
Welcome to our breakout issue of Men of Faith. The New Year is upon us! A
New Year means a chance for new beginnings for some things and
resolutions of others. For me and the brothers of the Men of Faith Magazine
we are entering into exciting times as we embark on this new and refreshing
journey together with you as we release our premiere issue. A collection of
talented and thought-provoking brothers have come together in order to
form the pages of this magazine written from the point-of-view of men.
Timing is everything and this is the perfect time to have such a magazine
released to the world. There is an old but very relevant saying that goes as
follows: If not now then when, if not us then who? I repeat…if not us then
who? Men we have to be able to stand up and be the guardian of our culture,
our people. We must show the world that men of color are not all the
stereotypical monsters that we are portrayed to be in the media. It’s time for
the voices of African-American men to not only be heard but also be felt in
the light of all the unjust treating of people of color going on not only in this
country but around the world. A struggle that has been going on since the
first of our people stepped foot on this continent has manifested itself into a
bigger problem for people of color that we will attempt to tackle. Problems
surrounding racism, black on black crime, cops killing us in the streets, mental
illnesses going untreated, financial woes, employment woes, and a lack of
unity just to name a few of the issues we face today. From cover to cover you
will find gems of knowledge. With this magazine we hope to serve as
encouragement and an understanding of our culture .We are going to
address many topics that men not only want to hear but also need to hear.
We plan to not only entertain but educate as well. We hope to spark a drive in
our men, young, old, and everything in between, to want to invest in
themselves and in the community. So without further ado…welcome and
enjoy our inaugural issue!
