I strutted into 2016 with an assurance I never had before. I felt it was my time to shine, and make good on the family and career promises I made to myself. I was going to put my best foot forward, and show the world who I was and what I had to offer. While I knew what I had to offer, I wasn’t sure who I was.

Knowing many others shared my plight, I invited them to join me on a journey of self-discovery. I created a weekly journal entitled Worth The Weight Wednesdays. Here are ten exercises to help you achieve it:

1. Find Three Good Things Daily. Every night, try to remember three good things from your day, and write down why each of them was important to you. This exercise will ultimately help you recognize and appreciate good things as they

happen to you.

2. The Talents That I Have Are… This exercise reveals your priorities, and what you want out of life. It also helps you focus on cultivating your talents to achieve it all.

3. The quality I like most about myself is ___, because… This exercise helps you to identify your potential. Defining yourself positively is an essential aspect in your journey to self-discovery.

4. This week I will… Make this list a weekly habit. Learn to focus on tasks, and accomplish them in order of importance.

5. Today I will celebrate my… You are worth throwing a party or celebration for as an occasional external expression of self-appreciation.
