all wounds heal eventually

As life goes on, our bodies will eventually show all the scars of our life in one form or another. Some scars are as transparent as a road map of all that we have endured and witnessed in life. It’s the cross we bear for being alive. Some scars tell a story so vivid that you see them every day and we are reminded of them at first glance or a mere caress. Others sneak up on you; strengthen only by the measure of time.

Battle scars.

Loving scars.

Scars of victory.

Your outward scars, the ones that make a mark for others to see, tell a story that people read immediately; but the scars on the inside of us…the ones others can’t see, can do the most damage to our hearts, our minds, and to our souls. They are the ones that are self-imposed; the ones that could have been prevented; the scars of our own making.

Outward scars…inward scars, both leave a mark. If we are smart, we learn from both.

A wise person takes inventory of their scars. Whether it is a health issue within/without your control, a childhood injury from being young and stupid, or an age spot from life which signifies your own mortality…worship it and smell the aroma of its existence and the fact that you live another day to laugh about it.
