ANNA LAPPÉ
| BERKELEY, CA
For nearly two decades, Anna Lappé has been researching, writing, and organizing for food systems change. A national bestselling author,
Anna is the recipient of the James Beard Leadership Award. She has authored or co-authored three books on food, farming, and sustainability
and contributed to more than a dozen others. Her writing has been featured in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The International

Planet Institute and Small Planet Fund, and works with partners nationwide to fund food system transformation, including developing and
running the Food & Democracy Program of the Panta Rhea Foundation. Point of pride: her kids love kale and consider persimmons the
perfect dessert. Superpower: Knowing how to find the accent aigu on any keyboard.
TIFFANI PATTON
| BERKELEY, CA
Tiffani Patton is an advocate for just food systems. A recent Net Impact Racial Equity Fellow, she is particularly activated by the nexus of justice,
food, and race. Tiffani supports several areas of educational programming and internal operations at Real Food Media. A gifted writer and
storyteller, she draws on these skills as content curator and managing editor for our Real Food Scoop newsletter and Real Food Reads book
club. She holds an MBA and an MPA in Sustainable Management. Heard clearly and often, Tiffani’s laugh and ability to always find the bright
side of life is contagious on our team. Tiffani is based in Oakland, CA. Superpower: Always finding the perfect emoji to capture the moment.
TANYA KERSSEN
| MINNEAPOLIS, MN
Tanya Kerssen has been doing activist research for over a decade. She has worked on a range of campaigns against militarism, promoting
freedom for political prisoners, and resisting large dam construction—but at the heart of all her work is a commitment to peasants’ rights and
community control over land and resources. She is the author of Grabbing Power: The New Struggles for Land, Food, and Democracy in
Northern Honduras as well as numerous articles and book chapters in the popular and academic press. She has also developed curricula and
designed and led dozens of solidarity delegations focused on food and agriculture on five continents. Tanya’s international experience
working with farmers and food sovereignty movements make her an asset to the Real Food Media team, where she supports political
education and communications strategy with a focus on Organizing Toolkits and the Good Food Purchasing Program. Originally from
Montreal, she is currently based in Minneapolis where she can be found samba dancing to ward off the winter chill. Superpower: Laserlike
ability to identify missing Oxford commas.
CHRISTINA BRONSING-LAZALDE
| CHICAGO, IL
Christina Bronsing-Lazalde is a seasoned organizer and researcher turned self-taught graphic and web designer. From movement wins to
policy outcomes, turning a story into something intuitive, creative, and resonant is something she stays up thinking about. Christina has been
involved with Real Food Media since our earliest days, ushering Food MythBusters and the Real Food Films Contest into the multi-faceted
communications organization it is today. She has grown the partnerships element of our work based on a commitment to collaborative
processes and brings communications strategy, project management, graphic design, and facilitation skills to the team. She holds an MPA in
public and nonprofit management and policy from NYU Wagner. Christina is based in Chicago and can be found jamming out to living room
dance parties with her toddler and husband most nights of the week. Superpower: Infusing presentations with well-timed GIFs.
