PROCESS AND EVALUATION
FEEDBACK LOOPS
We took an exciting leap this year building our capacity to reach new audiences and engage more meaningfully with
current ones. Through a HubSpot integration with our website, CRM, social media, and email platforms, we are
learning what content people are most interested in and relevant insights about who is coming to us for what.
HubSpot is a powerhouse tool that has allowed us to migrate many of our systems into one place, a sort of “home
sweet data home.” As a result, we not only have a brand new system to communicate with our circles via email, social
media, and our website—we can also connect people with pinpointed resources or updates like we've never been
able before. We're now primed to share news on particular program areas with contacts who have been following
those sections of our website and automating key recurring workflows that allow us to redirect that staff time to create
more original writing and interactive content. Yes, we're officially drinking the kool-aid: data is amazing.
OUR HIVE: FOCUS ON RACIAL EQUITY
Real Food Media held a two-day internal reflection
and strategic planning meeting in Berkeley in June
with a focus on sharpening the racial equity lens in our
work processes and organizational culture. With our
Chicago, Minneapolis, and Berkeley-based staff all in
one place, we also took the opportunity to commune
(over cocktails!) with some of the amazing women we
partner with in this justice work.
Following the HEAL Food Alliance Summit that
Christina and Tanya attended in March, a group of
alliance members from white-led or majority white
organizations decided to come together. Real Food
Media helped facilitate the organization of this group,
