So today I'm going to highlight a variety of colours I believe will harm instead of help your chances of picking up that new listing, convincing a fence sitting client to buy or sell and engaging buyers at an auction.

So let's kick off today's discussion with the colour black:

BLACK

Outfits that are predominantly black can appear aggressive, dominant and even intimidating. Just think of how often the evil villain in a movie is wearing black.

A black tuxedo or suit looks very sophisticated and glamorous when you’re attending a cocktail, formal or black tie event where all guests are in black. In my opinion though, wearing black in sales settings can:

• Make the agent appear less approachable and trustworthy.

• Send signals of dominance

• Offer a lack of warmth

• Break rapport

Other occasions when predominantly black outfits may not be appropriate are:

• During job interviews for entry level and mid-level positions

• When meeting with existing or prospective clients

• When dealing with females in professional settings (on the other hand a man wearing black in social settings can be very sexy)
