An always open house presented in high end graphics and user controlled walk-through comes alive in an immersive 3D experience when people around the world can use their phones, tablets or computers to walk through a property online even during their lunch break at work or from home.
However, it’s nothing like viewing it in a VR Gear headset where you can tilt your head up to inspect the molding, then down to appreciate the stair runner.
Here’s how it works: A 3D scanner or camera sits on a tripod and spins around in a full circle, scanning a room and collecting the spatial data to display in 3D. Once you’ve got all your scans, it uploads data to the cloud server, where the post process happens in the back office and photos are stitched to X, Y and Z coordinates and formed into a walk-able 3D model – just like a video game!
