Hello readers ! How have your reading goals been going this year ? I am well ahead of my goal in spite of moving and some other personal challenges but I ' m getting back into the swing of things and that includes reading / seeing a few of the books / movies / films I ' ve previously mentioned .
Last weekend I suffered through Insurgent with my daughter . It was painfully terrible . Though the cast is stellar I do not believe anything could have saved this travesty . Unfortunately , I hear the book is actually worse than the movie . I thankfully have not read the books and given the pathetically thin plot , I have no intentions of doing so . I laughed aloud multiple times at the ridiculousness of the plot , that obvious holes and too blatant character flaws . Two hours I will never get back for a film that ' s best feature was Four ( portrayed by Theo James ). Insurgent is a wreck it – so much so that I have zero desire to see the third installment and spent the rest of Sunday wondering how the books ever hit bestseller status or made it into film .
Unfortunately that ' s the only film I ' ve seen ( based on a book ) lately . I have been keeping up with the Walking Dead ( graphic novels and show , of course !) and could not be more pleased with how it is shaping up this season . I won ' t toss out spoilers because I don ' t abide them in my house , but this season appears to be bringing in the worst villain to date which could really dial things up for Rick and the other survivors . I do wonder just how far the producers are willing to take some of the gore following the recent gruesome deaths . The first several
