Maryland Secretarial Services, Inc. began in 1997 after
Founder, Cindy Freland, completed a successful career
developing documents and reports for a major health
insurance company in Washington, D.C. With more than 25
years of experience, Ms. Freland saw the need and decided
to become proficient in many software programs to offer
word processing, data entry, desktop publishing and
transcription. Her software skills include Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Corel WordPerfect and
QuickBooks Pro, the most popular and efficient software
products on the market. Over the years she added
bookkeeping, business card scanning, Internet research,
social networking, marketing services, web site
design/hosting, telephone communication and business
workshops to her long list of services.
Ms. Freland was a member of the Greater Bowie Chamber
of Commerce (GBCC) for twelve years and served on the
Board of Directors for two years. She hosted a Bowie cable
television show, Bowie Business Journal, for two years for
the GBCC and hosted her own radio show, Business
Connections. She is minority certified as a woman-business
owner in the Minority Business Enterprise/Disadvantaged
Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE) program with the
Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). She is
very detail-oriented and is constantly learning new
computer software programs and techniques. Ms. Freland is
Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certified for Excel.
Ms. Freland loves writing children’s books with good values
and lessons. She also helps business owners and teenagers
with her self-help books, including Facebook, getting jobs
and starting a business. She has written and self-publishing
14 books and is working on several more.
She has won the following three awards:

Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce

She lives in Bowie, Maryland with her family and enjoys
painting, reading, swimming, walking, shopping, beaches,
animals, crafts, crocheting and movies.
