Lee Mossel was born in Eugene, Oregon. He
grew up in the small logging and lumber mill
community of Noti, Oregon, about twenty
miles west of Eugene. In the era before
kindergartens, he "tested" into elementary
school at age five, was advanced through the
second grade, and subsequently, graduated
high school and entered the University of
Oregon at age sixteen. After receiving
Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Geology,
he began a thirty-five year career in oil and
gas exploration in Denver, Colorado.
