East Sussex National Resort My job is a tough one but it does not come without the odd perk and I sometimes get the opportunity to judge and review some of the county’s finest food, drink, restaurants, bars and hotels. I can hear your heart bleeding for me. This issue I have been lucky enough to visit the fantastic East Sussex National Resort which is nestled in 1100 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside not far from Uckfield. From the outside the main hotel complex is a low sprawling modern building that may lack some of the traditional grandeur of many country resorts but it does offer a perfect retreat for both business and leisure. On arrival I found myself inside a cavernous open plan reception that flows into the cosy bar area with some amazing views over the course and Downs. I was greeted by the v ery lovely Sharon Worby from the resort who gave me some background to the extensive facilities over a glass of bubbles. The main hotel boasts 104 bedrooms which include two bridal suites and ten luxury suites, the remaining rooms are classed as either Classic or Club.
