Follow the Seagulls Walk
Following an article in the last Re
magazine, Frances Newbury and a
friend of hers completed the Follow the
Seagulls Walk on 1 and 2 April 2017.
So far they have raised £1507 and the
sponsorship is still coming in. ~ I just
wanted to say a massive thank you
to everyone who sponsored us. Your
support means a lot! ~
2017 Eastbourne Legal Walk
Admission Ceremony
On 28 April 2017, our trainee solicitors
Gail Waller and Annika Mason attended
the Law Society in Chancery Lane
where they were admitted to the roll of
solicitors by the Deputy Vice Chancellor
of the Law Society, Christina Blacklaws.
Ms Blacklaws, who represents the
Women Lawyers Division, gave a
speech highlighting the increasing
gender diversity in the legal industry;
currently 62% of new entrants to the
profession are women.
After the admission ceremony, Gail
and Annika joined other newly qualified
solicitors and their families for a drinks
reception in the Common Room.
We’re delighted that both solicitors are
remaining with the firm, Gail in Clinical
Negligence at our Brighton office and
Annika in Probate, Trusts and Wills at
our Seaford office.
Members of the team at Mayo Wynne
Baxter will be taking part in a 10km
seaside walk. The Walk raises funds
for Eastbourne Citizens Advice Bureau.
With only a small number of legal
advice agencies in the area it is vital
that we help to maintain the Bureau
in order for it to be able to continue
to provide its valuable services to the
community.
This year’s walk will start at 5.30 on
June 12th. Donations can be made here

BHAFC V Bristol City – An MWB staff treat.
Five MWB staff members were nominated and selected for their hard work throughout
the year; to attend the final BHAFC game of the season with Chris Randall – the Chief of
MWB. Jade Russell, Charlotte Strong, Gail Waller, James Meikle and Kelly Garret were all
in attendance for this highly anticipated event.
Our Marketing Assistant, Jade Russell said “There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout,
with dedicated fans waving their flags, white and blue balloons floating high in the sky.
The hospitality received was brilliant, with delicious food and wine flowing throughout the
match. We are certainly grateful to Chris inviting us.”
