After the welcome drinks reception where guests were greeted by the Knights of Herstmonceux and offered tankards of ale and goblets of wine, the night’s proceedings then followed with celebrity King, TV presenter Sid Sloane asking guests to ‘taketh thy seats’, whilst medieval themed band Portcullis hailed them in and a magician made his way around the room. Guests were then asked to all rise for King Sid as he introduced the running of the variety of the night’s entertainment, with fundraising activities including a medieval game of heads and tails, salt & pepper tributes and charity auction and raffle. Whilst starters were being served the first surprise of the night took place as there was an attempt on the King. Sword fighting with men in armour ensued and the King was saved.
