Summer must be coming. Sussex in the sunshine is a truly wonderful place. For this issue we met up with Steve Edwards who you may remember from BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals which he won in 2013. I have eaten Steve’s food a number of times over the years through his pop-up restaurants, private dining and events so I was pleased that he finally got to open his own restaurant, Etch in Hove, back in March. Amber and I interviewed him to find out a little more about him and his food. We are also very excited to welcome a new member to the team - Simon Fuller. Simon is our new Sales Manager and will handle any advertising enquiries so please do contact him if you would like to feature in a future issue of Re: Magazine. Sadly it is also the last issue that Jade will be working on as she leaves Re: Towers for pastures new and we all wish her well. Disappointingly, I have been far too busy to do our usual hotel and restaurant reviews but Andy Belton from Chandlers BMW Brighton did convince me to spend a weekend driving a BMW 330e to see what makes this hybrid car so special. As you may have read in our last issue we have been doing our bit for charity in quite a unique way, we hosted a Medieval Banquet in aid of our charity partner Rockinghorse. The night was a lot of fun and huge thanks go to all those that came along dressed in medieval attire and helped us raise £25,000. We are constantly being asked if we are doing another one next year. We are not sure yet but don’t worry you’ll be the first to know. Our colleague Charlotte Strong has been off to Orlando, Florida for her holidays and you can read all about her exploits in our regular Where We’ve Been feature including her adventures in the exhilarating theme parks and in the calming Everglades. At MWB we have some really interesting people working for us and Amber has been interviewing some for our Meet the Team feature. In this issue she caught up with one of our trainee solicitors in our Lewes office- Zahid Khan. Zahid is not only a legal wiz kid but outside of work he enjoys Mixed Martial Arts and can recite the Quran. Dianne Gurney shares her thoughts on a trip to the beautiful Leeds Castle situated just outside Maidstone and over the border in Kent. There has been a castle on the site since 1119 and the place looks absolutely stunning. As always we have included some really informative pieces in this issue from a few of our expert solicitors on areas of the law that we think will be both interesting and helpful. If there are any particular legal topics you would like covered in a future issue then please let me know. This is now our 19th issue and although a lot of work goes into each issue the team here also have a lot of fun putting it together for you. We would love to get your opinion on Re: Magazine so that we can make sure that we continue to produce content that you want to read. So if you can spare a few moments please drop me a line or visit our Facebook page. Jason Edge Editor It is always a mad dash as we reach deadline here at Re: Magazine and as a consequence we sometimes miss the odd typo and grammatical error. Despite what many people may think we are but human and sometimes we do make mistakes. If you spot one then please let me know, whoever spots the most does not get a prize I’m afraid but you will receive our thanks for being eagle-eyed and it helps prove that you actually read the words and not just see the pretty pictures. 1
