Another drill: For those of you suffering from the chipping yips, try the putt-chip method. Stand close to the ball with the club straight up, like a putter. You’ll have the heel of the club off the ground and the toe down. Take your putting grip and make a putting stroke. Suitable for very short chips as it will go a short distance. But it is almost yip proof! (PIC 6) The coat hanger and the putt-chip are two ways to eliminate the wrists from flicking. To play the shot normally hold your finish and check your weight is still on your front foot with the hands holding the same position through impact. The club head should still be low to the ground (PIC 7) Any questions you may have please feel free to contact me on lee@ midsussexgolfclub.co.uk B y Lee Andrews Midsussexgolfclub.co.uk 103
