Glyndebourne
Glyndebourne has been home to the world famous opera festival since it was founded by John Christie and his opera singer wife Audrey Mildmay in 1934. Today Glyndebourne reaches around 150,000 people a year with over 120 live opera performances and is under the stewardship of a third generation of Christies.
Gus Christie became Executive Chairman of Glyndebourne Productions when he took over from his father, Sir George Christie, in 2000 and ‘lives above the shop’ in the country house that can trace its history back to the 15th Century.
